Overnight Fire Watchman and Maintenance

The Overnight Fire Watchman and Maintenance position will perform routine maintenance of our self storage facility and be the overnight fire watchman.  The duties would include, but not be limited to, painting, minor electrical, cement and tile masonry, dry wall or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining our facility.

• Full time or part time shifts are available

• Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.

• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.

• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

• Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings, such as repairing plaster and drywall, painting building structures, etc.

• May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts and order supplies as needed.

• Available to work weekends when needed.

• Clean vacated spaces, hallways and the exterior of the property as needed.  Keep the premises neat and clean, the grounds free of debris and landscaped area free of weeds.

Qualifications

• Must have FDNY COF type S95 or obtain it within two weeks of employment.

• Must be able to cover weekends and holidays and overnight shift from (7P – 8A)

• Good skill in the use of hand and power tools

• Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques

• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Must have a valid driver’s license

• Maintenance Certificate of Fitness COF is a plus!
