Suffern Self Storage Amenities
Our Suffern, New York location has a variety of self-storage sizes, from 5’x 5’ lockers to extra-large 10’ x 30’ units. Plus, our amazing staff can help you choose the right sized unit for your self-storage needs.
We keep our climate-controlled units between 55°F in the winter and 78°F in the summer. Wood, furniture, clothing and collectibles don’t do too well with big temperature variations. No temperature fluctuations means less damage to your belongings.
We hope you smile and wave at the cameras while you are in our facility. They operate 24/7/365 so don’t try anything shady because we’ll see you. Random dancing is encouraged, however. We get bored sometimes, ya know?
24 Hour Access
If you wake from a nightmare at 2 a.m. with a sudden need to check out your vintage hockey card collection, we've got you covered. You have access to your self-storage unit any time, whether day, night or weekend.
Covered Indoor Loading Areas
There’s not much we can do to control the weather, but we can keep you out of it while you move your possessions. We have covered indoor loading areas to keep the weather out while you move in or out.
We can’t see you break out into random dancing in the dark, so we have bright, motion-activated lighting in our facility, including hallways and entrances. We can see you, and you can see what you’re doing.
Digital Security System
Everyone who rents a self-storage unit is assigned an individual digital access code that is required to enter the building and your self-storage unit. It’s also how you get in and out of our facility, because the code opens the gate. Don’t leave home without it, and no sharing!
If your self-storage unit is on an upper level, stairs can become your biggest enemy pretty quickly. That's why we have an elevator you can access with your personal access code, as well as dollies and hand carts you can borrow to make the job go a little more smoothly.
Elevated Loading Platforms
Back the truck up (we frown on parking by feel so please try not to hit the platform), open the back and walk right onto the loading platform from the truck.
Interior Loading Areas
Mother Nature likes to unleash wind, rain, snow and sleet on moving days, but we have you covered. No, really, we literally have you covered. You can pull into an interior loading area, load or unload and stay protected from the weather while you do it.
During office hours, if you have a question while you’re at your storage unit then there's no need to stop what you’re doing, lock everything up and come all the way to the office. You can just hit the intercom in your unit and one of our amazing staff members will help you out. After hours, you can leave us a voicemail or send us an email and we’ll help you out on the next business day.
Fenced and Gated
Our Suffern location is fenced and gated, and the only way in or out is with your digital access code. Once inside, we have parking onsite, and you can even rent a parking space if you need to store your boat, Uncle Joe’s ‘62 Mustang or your camper.
No Contact Rental/Online Bill Pay
We know you're busy, so you can set up a rental agreement, sign it digitally and review and pay your bill online.
Boxes, Packing and Moving Supplies
If you need tape, packing materials or moving boxes, we have a full selection at your disposal. Impress your snooty neighbor with your next-level packing skills!
Dollies and Handcarts
Why lug when you can wheel? We have dollies and hand carts you can borrow while you are on the premises.
If you need somewhere to store your stuff for a couple of months, we offer month-to-month rentals. We hope you stay longer, but we will understand. It’s not us, it’s you!
Are you on your way to get your tires changed for the season, and suddenly remember they are sitting in the storage unit? We have convenient drive-up units available that let you pull right up, access your unit and get on with your day.
If you’re happy and you know it, tell a friend… and we will give you a $50 credit for every person you refer to us who decides to rent. (Sorry about the ear worm!)
Protection Plan Available
We have self-storage insurance available to give you extra protection for your belongings starting for as little as $10 per month. If you’re not sure why you would need it, you can learn more in Gain Peace of Mind with Storage Insurance.
Did you go a little overboard on Cyber Monday? Do you single-handedly keep Amazon in business with online shopping? Nosy kids trying to see what you bought them for Christmas? You can ship small packages to our location, and we will hold them for you for 48 hours. How you sneak them into the house after that is on you.
Friendly, Knowledgeable Staff
Our staff is pretty awesome. They can set you up with an access code, lend you the tape gun, help you select the best self-storage solution for your needs, and they may even judge your random dancing, or join in for a Tok-tok-worthy moment. Or not... Either way, they are ready to help.

What’s it Like in Suffern, New York?
Suffern was founded in 1796 by John Suffern, who originally called it New Antrim, as a nod to his Irish roots in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Located near the Ramapo Pass, and right on the New Jersey-New York border, it had strategic importance during the Revolutionary War, and George Washington used Suffern’s house as a military headquarters. He even had a “rendezvous with Rochambeau” (with apologies to Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of “Hamilton”) on their way to the battle of Yorktown. Rochambeau had an encampment in Suffern, Aaron Burr (sir), Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison all stayed with Suffern at one point or another, and the main street is named after the Marquis de Lafayette. (cue more “Hamilton” earworms).
Suffern is technically a village, but it is inside the town of Ramapo, about an hour from NYC. It is the location of Avon’s research and development center. The New Jersey main train line also stops in Suffern.
There have been a few notable people who called Suffern home, including actor Valerie Harper, actor Tyne Daly and her brother actor Tim Daly, NFL middle linebacker Keith Bulluck and Jay Beckenstein, co-founder of jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra.
Niche.com gives Suffern an overall A- rating with top marks for public schools, family-friendliness, outdoor activities, diversity and health and fitness. 72% of residents own their homes, and the median housing value is $310,900. Plus 69% of residents have at least some college or university, so it’s an educated bunch of people.
Why Storage Post?
We understand it can be confusing to have a village inside a town, even if the village hosted half of the founding fathers (and characters of “Hamilton”). We can suggest a way around the toll roads, or help you find the perfect short or long-term storage solution for your situation.
Safety and Security
Your safety and security is essential, and we take our commitment to you seriously. We have 24/7/365 security cameras, a digital security system, motion-activated lighting and individual digital access codes that are required to access both the gate, the facility and the self-storage unit. And to be extra safe, we'll even text you whenever your unit is opened.
Spic and Span
The only thing more dangerous to your possessions than temperature fluctuations are unwanted guests, and we do our best to prevent both those things with climate-controlled units and regular cleaning and inspections to ensure no creepy crawlies find their way inside.
We stand behind our services and our fees, so you will always know what you will be paying upfront, no hidden admin fees, surcharges or nasty surprises at the bill payment time.
Need moving supplies, recommendations on the best sized unit, information about the referral plan or to learn more about storage insurance or how to have a parcel shipped to our location? Our helpful staff is here to help you out. Some may even be willing to engage in a “Hamilton” riff-off with you, but you’ll have to find that out on your own.
