Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn Self-Storage Amenities

Our Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, New York location has a variety of self-storage unit sizes, from 5’x 5’ lockers and small self-storage units to extra-large 10’ x 20’ units. If you’re not sure what size unit you need to protect your valuable possessions, our amazing staff can help you choose. You can also check out How to Find the Right Storage Unit for Your Belongings for some helpful tips.

Climate-Controlled Units

We keep our climate-controlled units between 78°F in the summer and 55°F in the winter so the temperature is always just right. Furniture, clothes, fabric, photos and people don’t do well with huge temperature fluctuations.

Security Cameras

We have security surveillance cameras operating 24/7/365. If you’re trying to do anything shady, we will see you. If you’re just going about your business, wave at the camera!

Daily Access

Monday–Friday hours are so last century! We are open seven days a week, because we understand not everyone can take off early to get the tires out of storage before a Saturday appointment.

Motion-Activated Lighting

We have bright, motion-activated lighting in all our hallways, entrances and elevators that will light up as soon as anything moves. So if you decide to have an impromptu dance party,  we will see you. Remember those security cameras?

Digital Security System

We assign everyone an individual personal access code when they rent a self-storage unit from us. Only people with access codes can get through the gate, into the building or on the elevator. No code, no access, and no sharesies on the access code. Keep your code to yourself, please!

Elevators

You can access the elevator with your personal access code. You can also borrow a hand cart or dolly so you can push or pull your boxes to your unit and save your back. Of course, you can take the stairs if you want to, we won’t judge. We may laugh if you drop a box, especially if it’s full of books (isn't it always?), but we will also be impressed with your commitment and level of fitness.

Covered Loading Areas

Why is it that Mother Nature seems to really hate moving days, and unleashes rain, snow, hail or all of the above when you are just trying to get the job done? We may not be able to control the weather, but we can keep you relatively dry and comfortable with covered loading areas.

Intercoms

Button, button just hit the button. If you have a problem during office hours, our intercoms connect you to the office right from your unit and we will help you out on the spot. During off hours, leave us a voicemail or email and we will get back to you when the office opens. (Probably only after we make some coffee, though.)

Fenced and Gated

Our Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn location is fenced and gated, and you need your access code to open the gate. We do have a big parking lot inside, which for anyone who has ever tried to park in Brooklyn while trying to figure out alternate side parking rules will be a welcome relief.

Referral Program

If you’re happy and you know it, tell a friend! And if that friend rents a self-storage unit from us, we will give you $50. Who doesn’t want a little extra cash?

Protection Plan

Sometimes stuff happens, even when we try our best to keep your belongings safe. You can get a self-storage protection plan for as little as $10 a month, and our staff will be happy to walk you through the details.

High Ceilings

No need to crab walk into your self-storage unit bent over at a 90 degree angle. We have high ceilings that makes it easy to access your self-storage space without risking your back (or a concussion). And you can even play storage box Jenga with great-grandma’s china, and that’s always fun!

Business/Commercial Accounts

Not every place wants business or commercial accounts, but they're welcome at Storage Post. If you need a place to store inventory, supplies, or even an extra space to work on designs as you launch your business, we’re here to help.

Online Bill Pay

No need to wait for office hours to handle your account. You can simply view your account and pay your bill online, anytime of the day or night.

Boxes, Packing and Moving Supplies

While teetery odd-sized boxes add that dash of adventure to storage box Jenga, if you want to make things easier, we have a full range of boxes, packing materials, tape and bubble wrap to make your job a breeze.

Dollies and Hand Carts

We have dollies or hand carts to make moving in and out of your self-storage unit go more smoothly.

Free Wi-Fi

We offer free Wi-Fi to all our customers while you are on-site. Translation? You can monitor the score of the game and still get your chores done.

Month-to-Month Rentals

Because life, amiright? We understand that sometimes you just need a short-term solution to store your belongings while you renovate, or figure out your next adventure, or go on the off-off-Broadway tour of “Rent.” We offer month-to-month, short- and long-term rentals to help.

What’s it Like in Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn New York?

Brooklyn was founded in 1636 by a group of Dutch farmers, and by 1890, it was the fourth largest city in the United States before it became a borough of New York City in 1898. Brooklyn is geographically part of Long Island, but chose to become a borough of New York City. It was the site of the Battle of Long Island during the Revolutionary War, which was a good night for the British but not so much for the Patriots. In 1883, Brooklyn became tethered to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge, which was and remains the longest suspension bridge in the USA. P.T. Barnum, never one to miss an opportunity, marched 21 elephants across the bridge in 1884 to prove it was solid.

Mae West, Leonard Bernstein, Al Capone, Jay-Z, Paul Bettany, Emily Blunt, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dom Deluise, Ruth Bader Ginsberg and a host of other famous people have called Brooklyn home. Tootsie Rolls and hot dogs in a bun were invented on Coney Island in Brooklyn in 1867 when Charles Feltman slapped a sausage on a bun so beach-goers could eat without tableware. Feltman’s bun slicer Nathan Handwerker decided to slice up the competition in 1916, and opened a rival hotdog shop, neatly undercutting Feltman’s. Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs still holds a hot dog eating contest every year on the 4th of July (but doesn’t serve Feltman’s). Current record is 76 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes, held by Joey Chestnut, who also held the previous world record of 75 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes in 2018.

Niche.com gives Brooklyn an overall A rating, with top marks for family-friendliness, outdoor activities, nightlife, diversity and health and fitness. 70% of residents rent their homes, and median household income is $60,231.
