East Setauket Self-Storage Amenities

Our East Setauket, New York location has a variety of self-storage units ranging from small 5’x 5’ units to extra-large 10’ x 40’ units. You can also rent a parking space so you never need to worry about where you’re going to park your trailer, RV or boat for the off-season. If you’re not sure which size you need, we are here to help you.

Climate-Controlled Units

Sometimes it can go from balmy to frigid in a matter of hours in New York State, especially when the wind blows in off the water. It’s not fun for people and it’s also not fun for your possessions, so we ensure our self-storage climate-controlled units are kept between 78°F in the summer and 55°F in the winter. Because really, no one likes extremes!

Security Cameras

Everyone feels invisible from time to time, but you won’t ever have to worry about that here. We can see you, all the time (but not in a creepy way, just in a safety-first way). We have 24/7/365 security cameras so you can always feel seen when you visit us. We believe in keeping everyone safe and secure.

24-Hour Access

Did you just remember your tire appointment is at 8am and the tires are in your storage unit? Are guests due in an hour and you forgot to grab great-aunt Tilly’s special soup tureen that needs to be on the table or the feast may not happen? Don’t panic, because you can access your unit any time of day or night, even on evenings, weekends or holidays. (Mind sharing the soup recipe?)

Motion-Activated Lighting

Anyone who has ever tried to sneak in after curfew knows how important good lighting is. We may not have a curfew, but we do have bright, motion-activated lighting that will come on in the hallways, entrances, elevators and other locations to help you see what you’re doing, and to help us see you!

Digital Security System

If you want into the facility, you’re going to need your personal access code. No code, no entry. It’s one of the ways we keep you safe.

Convenient Drive-Up Units

It’s Sunday, the game is starting in an hour, and you have to pick up your lucky jersey from your storage unit. You can pull right up to your unit, open it, grab what you need and be on your way again in a snap. You can even keep the car running, although it’s not the most environmentally friendly thing to do, but you do you, boo!

Clean and Tidy

Nobody wants to find extra visitors in your unit you didn’t know about or invite, so we work hard to keep our facility clean. We also have a crew of exterminators that keep things pest-free.

Fenced and Gated

Our East Setauket location is fenced and gated, and the gate only works with the digital access code. We have on-site parking as well, so you don’t need to worry about finding a parking spot on the road and lugging boxes in from the car.

No-Contact Rental/Online Bill Pay

We are committed to convenient customer service, so you can review and pay your bill online. No more writing out a set of checks (does anyone still use checks?), you can review and pay your bill from the comfort of your couch, and you don’t need to change out of your dinosaur onesie to do it.

Boxes, Packing and Moving Supplies

We have packing and moving supplies, including moving boxes, packing supplies, packing tape and bubble wrap (yay, bubble wrap!) to help you organize your move and your storage space. Come see us in the office and we’ll hook you up.

Dollies and Hand Carts

You can borrow a dolly or hand cart so you can move your possessions more easily to and from your storage unit.

Protection Plans

Keep your possessions safe with $2,000 to $5,000 coverage starting at as little as $10 per month. Not sure if you need it? Check out Gain Peace of Mind with Storage Unit Insurance.

Are you at SUNY Stony Brook and need to store your college dorm decor for the summer? Did you have a flood and need to store things until repairs are finished?  We offer month-to-month, short- and long-term rentals.

Friendly, Knowledgeable Staff

Our staff can help you figure out how to reach our location, explain why there are so many right hand turns to get to our location, lend you a tape gun or set you up with your access code. They might even be able to explain the difference between Setauket and East Setauket and where one ends and the other begins, they are that good. What’s it Like in East Setauket, New York?

Setauket and East Setauket are both hamlets within the town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, although there is some debate about where one ends and the other begins, which is kind of like a conundrum wrapped in an enigma. What everyone can agree on is that it’s located on the north shore of Long Island. In 1777 during the Revolutionary War, a bunch of Patriots snuck up on British forces in Setauket Presbyterian Church, hid behind a boulder and started firing. Britain sent for reinforcements, and the Patriots left in a hurry. The church is gone but the boulder is still there.

Both Setaukets, Stony Brook and the village of Old Field were historically known as the Three Villages, although clearly someone was a bit mathematically challenged since there are four villages, not three. In 1778, it was the base of operations for the Culper Spy Ring, founded by George Washington. Colonel Benjamin Tallmadge was tasked with obtaining information on British movements in New York City. He recruited both male and female spies, and the women used laundry drying on the line to send messages to the Patriots. The spy ring was instrumental in preventing an attack on Patriot ally Lieutenant-General Rochambeau just after his troops’ arrival from France. The ring also exposed Benedict Arnold and his traitorous ways.

Niche.com doesn’t separate Setauket/East Setauket from the town of Brookhaven, and gives the whole town high marks in family-friendliness, outdoor activities, health and fitness, diversity and nightlife. Seventy-nine percent of residents own their homes, and the median house value is $347,200.
