Generally, we consider the standard storage unit sizes to be 5x5 for a small unit, 5x10 for a medium unit, 10x10 for a large unit and 10x20 or more for an extra-large unit. However, just like rooms in a home, exact dimensions vary. When selecting your storage unit, consider what items you will be storing. 5x10 and 10x5 storage units are the same size, but depending on your storage needs you may prefer the deep and narrow unit over the wide and shallow one, or vice versa.
